Abilities for an independent life…

The program by which nine young people with disabilities from Salaj participate in training activities that develop their independent living skills continued in April, May and June. The training module was organized in April on Thursdays, Fridays, respectively 19-20.04.2012 and included topics of discussion, and practical work on money management. Participants had the opportunity to learn and implement a budget allocation for shopping to prepare a dinner menu. Also, through the games and exercises were introduced concepts of knowledge of the value of money and managing budgets. Depending on the difficulties they encountered in realizing the value of money and how it should be administered, young people were encouraged to participate in family shopping together, set menus to allocate a budget so that they learn money management skills. Modules organized in May 17 to 18, 22 to 23 June came to strengthen the skills gained in the previous session, assessing the level of each participant based on what they managed to achieve in everyday life on the allocation of budgets for shopping, paying bills etc. But also in this session, from the budget for daily life, were introduced notions of personal hygiene and implementation of the main rules of hygiene with awareness for the monthly amount required to purchase hygiene items, were the relevant topics for "homework" of these sessions.
