National Conference on Modern Medical Management in Genetics

MedicalManager.ro, the national portal, leader of  information for medical managers and Personal Genetics, as lead partner, organized the first edition of the National Conference "Modern Medical Management in Genetics". The event held on May 16th at Novotel Hotel Bucharest, gathered names of Romanian Genetics and renowned experts in related medical fields. Dorica Dan, the president of the association participated representing RPWA. 

Through this participation, Personal Genetics aimed to bring to the attention of all concerned: security systems, government, clinicians, patients, pharmaceutical and diagnostic industry, the problems facing Genetics in Romania and also to capitalize the impact this has in global medicine and  that may also have in Romanian medicine.

Professor Adrian Streinu-Cercel –  Secretary of State –  participated for Ministry of Health. He gave a short overview of the latest technologies available in Romania in the domain of rapid diagnosis of severe infections.

Professor Dr. Ruxandra Draghi-Akli - Director of Health Department of the General Directorate for Research and Innovation of the European Commission (Patroness of  the Rare diseases Day Romania) - and Dr. Bogdanka Militescu - General Manager of Personal Genetics - pointed out the essential role of research and personalized medicine. Dr. Draghi-Akli presented the investment plan in research on rare diseases , on a level with European Union.

Dr. Bogdanka Militescu insisted on the importance that personalized medicine is gaining every day in health systems around the world, this being the driving force behind the development of these systems.

"Information Centre for Rare Genetic Diseases" is the first center in Romania and is intended to be a resource center for rare disease patients, their families and professionals involved in the diagnosis and management of these diseases.
